My mom and I went to Alaska in May the day of her birthday. Went to Ketchikan and Skagway - saw my first moose. How excited I got...got to hold a 2 week old puppy from Ididarod...I told so many people what a wonderful time I had. (Flightseeing in Denali National Park) the plane just didnt fly past but flew around it (Mt. McKinley) once so everone could see all of Mt. MacKinley. That was way too cool. I gave the people a thumbs up on that. Wonderful!
We visited Alaska on a Globus Bus tour in mid July. It was a wonderful experience. We did and saw a lot of Alaska. I never thought I would get excited over the pipeline, but after seeing and learning about it I was amazed at the engineering and construction. We took a couple of boat trips that were fantastic. We got to see lots of wildlife and glaciers calving. In additon we took a helicopter trip to land on a glacier which was wonderful. Denali was one of the highlights of our trip. I am sorry we didn't take an optional trip to the Arctic Circle. I also would have opted for the additional cruise that was available at the end of our bus tour. We will definitely visit Alaska again and plan to spend more time than we did on our first visit.
